An image, a link

Hi out there,

yesterday i stumbled over a photographer who's work i've been admiring for some time. Thorir Vidar is mainly shooting scapes, and i love them.



Additionally i would recommend you to visit the current Portrait exhibition in the
Viennese Kunsthalle . Do so soon, because it will be closed from Sunday. I really made some discoveries there;I especially enjoyed discovering the works of Bernhard Fuchs and Jitka Hanzlova; the now famous Roger Ballen is there with earlier works which i find highly controversial.

Additionally i would recommend to read "The Photograph as Contemporary Art" by Charlotte Cotton, if you want to find out more about (the most common) contemporary strategies of artistic photography.


A highlight on the web, which i was planning to link to for some time no is the Guardian's online series My Best shot : Contemporary greats talk about their fav images, and ho they came into existence.
