AUT 32 - Wien Brigittenau

For Vienna i chose to follow a different path than in the rest of Austria: instead of chosing the places on my on, i "rasterized" every district acording to the number of its inhabitants. The 20th district, Brigittenau, has roughly 80 000 inhabitants. If my aim is to take 1000 images, that makes one per 8000 inhabitants, which means i have to take 10 in Brigittenau. The ten places i visited are marked on the map above. I go to these places and try to photograph the first person that does something, e.g. crosses the road from left to right, passes a certain spot etc. Preferably i take images of people that sit there or work there (e.g. 2,4,8) The numbers under the images tell you where they were taken.

I decided to do the even numbered districts in summertime, the others in winter. So far the tenth district had the "best" outcome.

I still have to take images of 33 people from lower Austria, which means i have to go there in the coming days.

Until wednesday

Your idea is simply great! (Where did you get it from? Just by yourself?) By the way: I often used to go shopping at the "Hofer" in pic. 10 when I lived in Brigittenau. So memories came to life again... thx!

greets, fg
